Connecting your Home to the Internet

There are many internet service providers that offer internet connection.  Internet connection includes simple dial up connection (56k) and more sophisticated methods such as ADSL (1 megabit), and in certain cases internet connection through satellite.

Some of these companies are the local telecom companies such as CYTA, Avacom, Thunderworx, Spidernet, Logosnet, amongst others.

For simple dial up connection, the monthly membership is approximately CYP 6 along with charge per use per hour, in the range of 20c per hour.

ASDL, however, has approximately a CYP 35 monthly connection charge, with no additional charge for usage.

Some companies may choose to have permanent internet connection in the form of a leased line.  Costs for this vary, depending on the company chosen.
